The Academy

The MUNDUS VINI International Wine Academy was set up in 2001. The target was to give both consumers and professionals more information about every aspect of wine and to provide them with appropriate quality orientation aids. The Wine Academy consists of four elements:

The MUNDUS VINI Great International Wine Award is meanwhile one of the most prestigious wine awards in the world. It is held annually in Neustadt an der Weinstraße in Germany. Over the course of two weeks, some 180 well-known international wine experts taste more than 6,000 wines from all over the world.

The International Spirits Award is a renowned and professional event at which spirits of all kinds are tasted. Clear spirits, fruit brandies, liqueurs, rum, whisk(e)y, etc., are carefully tested by selected experts.

Professionally organised wine seminars are held under the name of MUNDUS VINI in Neustadt an der Weinstraße and Hamburg. The different seminars are designed both for wine lovers and people working professionally with wine. The range of seminar topics extends from "The Senses", offering the perfect introduction to the world of wine, through red and white wines to specific topics like Bordeaux and cult wines.

At regular intervals, the International Wine Academy organises trips to typical wine regions. Wine countries still in the course of development, such as China, are also the destination of attractive study trips.

The MUNDUS VINI International Wine Academy is a subsidiary of MEININGER VERLAG in Neustadt, one of Germany's oldest specialist publishing houses and run by the family for four generations. It specialises in wine and beverage publications for different target groups and demonstrates its expertise, which is probably unique of its kind in Europe, both by regularly presenting innovative and visionary concepts and by its critical and top-quality journalism.
